Health, Happiness and Prosperity: how do we make this a priority in the new normal?

Teacher well-being is a foundational need for any school or system. Without healthy teachers, we will not have healthy students, parents or communities. Addressing the trauma and stress from these school closures, as well as re-imagining, designing and developing our education systems to put teacher and student well-being at the center is key. This session will look into how you address your well-being as a teacher? How do you help your students, parents and communities?  Importantly we ask how we could redesign the systems and our schools to place well-being at their centre.

What actually works? 

A need to embrace technology to reach students has pushed teachers to search for the best software and hardware to deliver a true education. Designing to enhance the learning process by choosing the right technological tools to fit the pedagogy, curricula and student context, specific professional development needs, technology vetting service and digital literacy are at the forefront of teachers thinking at the moment and will be explored in this session.

Collaborative communities with collective teacher efficacy 

During this period of school closures, teachers have shown how collaboration will play a major part in this new normal. From the grassroots to the systemic, teachers have been collaborating to find solutions for students, parents, communities and themselves. Teachers trust teachers, but we need a collective trust within our communities to truly collaborate between every educational stakeholder to develop the whole student. A real need is presenting itself for teachers to leverage the technological tools in a truly collaborative way. How to collaborate is key professional development that will help build the relationships that can help teachers, their students and their communities grow.
